The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - Wikipedia

Whether you cheer on the heroes and lovable characters like Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh or Tin Tin, or you love to hate the baddies like Miss Trunchbull, the Twits or the Queen of Hearts, we all have our favourite characters. Inspired by images from our collection as well as their own books participants made paper bag puppets of book characters. Sarah made Mary Poppins, who I think we can all agree is a good character practically perfect , while I made Captain Hook, who could be considered to be both Bad and Ugly. Our participants also helped the Library decorate its Christmas tree by making little book decorations. Some were decorated with snowflakes and trees on the outside while others wrote stories and drew pictures to fill the pages inside. Phillipa and Sasha from the Scottish Book Trust came all the way from Edinburgh to see us and join in the fun.

Charles Leinberger. Although five-time Academy-Award nominee Ennio Morricone has scored numerous films in various genres, his westerns will undoubtedly remain his most memorable cinematographic accomplishments. This guide demonstrates Morricone's unique and enduring contributions to the art of film music through a discussion of his compositional and orchestrational processes, many of which are evident in his music for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly in a way that can be easily understood by both musicians and nonmusicians. Leinberger begins his study with a brief discussion of Morricone's musical background through his experience in the Italian music business, his earliest Italian film scores, and his accomplishments in Hollywood. The second chapter is a discussion of the many compositional techniques that distinguish Morricone's music from that of other film composers. Subsequent chapters examine the historical and cultural context of the film and attempt to place the style of Morricone's score for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly in relation to his scores for other well-known Westerns. The book's final chapter is an analysis of compositional techniques presented in chronological order from the film's opening credits to its climactic ending.

Post a Comment. This project has been a massive undertaking by Peter, a dedicated journey which has been nothing short of miraculous. The aim of this book project is essentially to document this classic film in the greatest detail. Highlights will include over 20 interviews with cast and crew, more than rare behind-the-scenes stills, as well as detailed analysis of the historical background including numerous historical comparison photos, maps etc , documentation of all shooting locations, lobby cards, posters, and more. An extensive volume of information has been gained by the generous input of cast and crew, with the following being interviewed on one or more occasions:. The book is lavished with numerous stills, including over behind-the-scenes stills, most of which have been scanned from original negatives and not previously published.

Everyone from Carmen Electra to the Olsen twins will be penning detailed and increasingly superfluous Hollywood memoirs. Lacking the rich anecdotes about classic movies, legendary directors, and passionate love affairs that the real stars of old wove into their bios, the tales told by also-rans like Locke are frequently padded with lengthy analyses of forgettable films — in her case, Willard, The Second Coming of Suzanne, Bronco Billy, Every Which Way but Loose, and Ratboy which she directed. According to the often spacey Locke, Eastwood shut her out of their house, tapped her phones, and tried to destroy her career, even setting up a sham directing deal for her at Warner Bros. Locke sued Eastwood twice, once for palimony she got almost nothing and once after she says she discovered that Eastwood actually paid Warner Bros. Locke had battled breast cancer during the whole ordeal, had a double mastectomy in , and seven years later settled with Eastwood in the second suit before the jury returned a verdict. When it was good, it was very, very good — private jets, getaways in Carmel, Calif.
