Apples and pumpkins book activities
Sorting Apples and Pumpkins Book ActivityDesigned for kindergarten literacy centers so you can have center materials to last all year long. Normally I have a few topics available at a time and can rotate them out throughout the year. We also took lots of field trips to the apple orchard and pumpkin patches over the years. So I came up with a plan to incorporate them, get them into the hands of my five and six-year-olds and make non-fiction books easily accessible. Collect all of the materials you have on hand that relate to all things apples and pumpkins. Having only kindergarten-level reading material is definitely not the goal here.

My kids really enjoyed sorting apples and pumpkins after reading the book Apples and Pumpkins by Anne Rockwell. This activity is crazy easy to set up! Surprisingly, it was well-liked by both of my kids. He added a bit of imaginative play to his sorting and actually sorted them a couple of times. I would NOT leave her unattended while doing this activity. If this is a concern for you, I would skip this activity or use stickers.
