Caselli and torre series book 3
Dood de engel by Sandrone DazieriA high-speed train from Milan draws into the station in Rome, and a horrific discovery in one carriage rocks the city. The Police receive a message claiming responsibility for the act and announcing more murders to come, and they duly turn their attention to a small terrorist group of Islamic extremists. But investigator Dante Torre does not believe this angle. For him, this feels like a smokescreen concealing the actions of a killer who has a far more terrible motivation. The trail lead to Berlin and Venice, where the waters of the Venetian Lagoon will turn blood red…. After reading the first page, I was hooked, and it remained that way until the very last page.

From internationally bestselling author Sandrone Dazieri comes the thrilling conclusion to the "unrelentingly suspenseful" Booklist , starred review Caselli and Torre trilogy in which two damaged but deductively brilliant detectives must sort out what is real and what is imagined. Reeling from a deadly bombing in Venice and her investigative partner Dante's disappearance, Detective Colomba Caselli retreats to the rural countryside outside Rome to nurse her wounds. When an apparently autistic teenager appears in her yard, covered in blood, he leads her to a brutal crime scene where nothing is what it seems. As Colomba gets pulled into the investigation and the body count continues to grow, she is implicated in the violence. She is convinced that a powerful villain is working in the shadows to cause the carnage and frame her, but the only person who can help her is Dante - and he hasn't been seen in over a year and is presumed dead.
